FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Your lessons will begin with a free consultation. We’re more than happy to discuss your plans and learn about your dream dance. Feel free to bring your favorite songs, pictures of your wedding venue and wedding attire, and even examples of dance videos that you like.
More and more couples are including their wedding party in dance lessons – either to create a unique dance routine or make sure everyone knows how to dance and will enjoy themselves. Learning to dance with your friends makes it more fun!
We realize that some Students arrive for lessons straight from the office, and others may be dressed more casually – either is fine. The most important thing is to wear something comfortable, which allows you to move easily. We also suggest leather-sole shoes for gentlemen, and a shoe with a back for ladies. If you’ve already purchased your wedding shoes, we suggest you bring them along. Please note that athletic shoes do NOT work well on the ballroom dance floor because they stick.
Just like with anything else in life – practice makes perfect. The more you rehearse, the more comfortable and confident you will look and feel on your wedding day. If you start preparing in advance you will be able to fit in more rehearsals before your wedding and minimize the stress. Try not to take extra long breaks between your Wedding Dance classes to keep the flow going and not to forget what you’ve already learned. We suggest starting 2-3 months in advance. Starting even earlier? Great! Only have one week left before the wedding? You can still do it! Just make sure you fit in as many practice sessions as possible in the next few days.
Yes! We thought it through and we only use the dance moves that are easy to do in ANY dress style.
Choosing a song for your First Dance is a very personal thing and there is no right or wrong. Choose a song that is special and meaningful, the one that resonates with both of you and you will enjoy dancing to. From our experience, the sweet spot in terms of length of the song is somewhere between 1,5-2 minutes. It is always a good idea to edit the song to a perfect length.
